Can anyone help with clauses?

A clause is a statement. Those that can stand alone are independent, those that cannot are dependent. Those that describe something are adjective clauses; those that describe an action are adverbial clauses; those that show the relationship between two parts of a sentence are prepositional. Those who come in December are called santa clauses.
