How to renew Thai pport whilst living in Australia?

My wifesThai pport expires Nov 2010 and i want to get it renewed before the 6 month validility to re enter Australia ceases. We live 12 hours from Perth (our nearest city) and will be going to the UK via Thailand in May 2010. We only have 4 days in Bangkok and i understand it takes a minimum of 5 days to renew a pport.We dont really want to go to Bangkok (like every other visit to Thailand) Does any one know a quicker way or any other way to renew my wifes pport while living in Australia? Does any one know much about the E pports?
