Question about the B section of Joplin's 'Maple Leaf rag'.?

usually musical scores either attach the higher notes to an octave lower (for an option of either) or leave them out completely, especially on easier beginner scores or band instruments. however, for an advanced musician, the only reason I could think of that it'd be written lower is if either the notation couldn't go that high (too confusing) or if they accidentally left an "8va" or "15ma" out. I agree that it sounds waaaay better high, though! good luck.
