How do you remove waterproofing spray stains from leather shoes?

I just bought a brand new pair of black leather Reebok shoes and decided to spray them with a waterproofing spray for leather, suede and textiles. The spray was quite old but has stained my shoes a gray color now. I've tried leather cleaners and dish detergent to no avail. I was told by someone that the chemicals in the waterproofing spray had separated because it was so old and essentially I sprayed them with near pure silicone. Please help!
